Portraits of Happiness
Zine Editorial
“Portraits of Happiness: A Visual Exploration of Happiness Through Different Perspectives” is a book about interviews to different visual artists about their perceptions of happiness. Interviewees are asked to describe happiness in an abstract form, then write an experience that makes them happy. I designed nine sketches based on their descriptions per person. Interviewees needed to choose one out of nine that they thought matched their description the most, which I later developed into a final version of the specific interviewee's happiness.

The chapters of this book are organized by interviewee. Each chapter begins with a brief bio of the subject, followed by their description of happiness as they perceive it—the abstract shape of happiness, the things that make them feel happy. After that, I create nine sketches based on their descriptions for them to choose from and explain their reasons. Finally, I refine the selected sketch into a detailed close-up illustration.
